How Does Our Copy Trading Bot Work? Your Guide to Smart Trading
Ever wondered how some traders seem to effortlessly ride the waves of the market, always buying low and selling high? Our Copy Trading Bot is designed to help you do just that, by intelligently mimicking the moves of successful whale wallets. But how exactly does it work its magic? Let's break it down in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
What is a "Whale" in Crypto Trading?
In the vast ocean of cryptocurrency, a whale is an individual or entity that holds a very large amount of a particular cryptocurrency. Due to their significant holdings, their buying and selling actions can often move the market. Our bot monitors these powerful whales to identify potential trading opportunities.
The Core Logic: Following the Smart Money
Our bot operates on a principle of smart imitation. It constantly monitors the trading activities of the whale wallets you choose to follow. When a whale makes a move, our bot analyzes it to determine the best action for your portfolio.
Here's a breakdown of its key functions:
1. Spotting Opportunities: Buy Signals
When a whale makes a new buy (meaning they acquire a significant amount of a token they didn't hold before, or substantially increase their existing holdings), our bot springs into action.
- Initial Buy: If the whale is buying a token for the first time, our bot considers this a strong signal It calculates the appropriate amount to buy for your wallet based on your configured trade amount
- Adding to Position: If the whale is adding to an existing position, our bot calculates a proportional increasefor your trade, considering how much the whale's holding has grown. This ensures your trade scales with the whale's conviction.
- Safety First: Before any buy, the bot checks if the token is safe (meaning it passes our internal security checks to avoid scam tokens). If not, the trade is skipped.
- Balance Check: It always verifies if you have enough SOL (Solana's native coin) in your wallet to cover the purchase. If your balance is insufficient, it pauses copying for that configuration and alerts you.
- Open Trade Limit: We also respect your maximum open trade limit. If buying a new token would exceed this limit, the bot will not proceed with the purchase, ensuring you don't over-diversify or take on too many active positions.
2. Strategic Exits: Sell Signals
When a whale decides to sell their tokens, our bot aims to mimic that exit strategy, helping you secure profits or minimize losses.
- Partial or Full Sell: The bot calculates a proportionate amount to sell from your holdings based on how much the whale sold. If the whale sells a small portion, your bot sells a small portion. If the whale sells their entire holding, your bot aims to sell all of yours.
- Balance Check: Just like with buys, the bot checks your token balance before selling. If you don't have enough tokens to execute the sell (perhaps you manually moved them), the bot will close your related trades, pause copying, and notify you This prevents the bot from trying to sell tokens you no longer possess.
3. Smart Swaps: Token-to-Token Transitions
Sometimes, whales don't just buy or sell; they swap one token for another Our bot handles these complex scenarios seamlessly:
- Sell Old, Buy New: When a whale sells an old token and immediately buys a new one, our bot first attempts to sell your corresponding old token.
- Partial Sells and Limits: If your sale of the old token is only partial (meaning some of your initial trade amount remains active and PARTIALLY CLOSED), the bot will then check your maximum open trade limit.
- If you're already at your limit (or would exceed it by adding a new token while an old one is still partially open), the bot will NOT buy the new token. This prevents you from accumulating too many positions if the whale is frequently swapping and you can't fully exit old trades.
- If your old trade is fully closed, or if the new trade would not exceed your MAX OPEN TRADE limit, the bot will proceed to buy the new token.
- Liquidity & Balance Checks: Throughout this two-step process (sell old, buy new), the bot performs balance checks to ensure you have enough tokens to sell and enough SOL to buy the new token. If any step fails due to insufficient funds or a swap error, the bot will pause copying and notify you.
4. Zero Balance Monitoring: The "Whale Moved Tokens" Scenario
What if a whale moves their tokens to another wallet instead of selling them? This often signals that the whale is no longer actively managing that position. Our bot has a safeguard for this:
- Periodic Checks: Our bot checks the balances of the source whale wallets for active copied trades.
- Detecting Zero Balance: If a whale's balance for a specific token drops to zero (meaning they've moved or sold everything), our bot recognizes this as an inactive position.
- Your Position: It then checks your wallet for the same token.
- If you still hold the token, the bot will attempt to sell it for you, closing your copied trade and notifying you.
- If you don't hold the token (because you might have manually sold or transferred it), the bot understands that your position is no longer active. It will then close all your related trades for that token, pause your copy configuration, and send you an alert. This helps you manage your account if you've made manual interventions.
Important Considerations: What Happens if a Trade Fails?
Our bot is designed to be resilient. If a buy or sell transaction fails for any reason (e.g., network issues, temporary liquidity problems):
- No Immediate Action: The bot generally does not immediately close your trade or pause copying. It will simply continue (skip) that specific failed action for the current cycle.
- Retries: Since tasks run periodically, the bot will attempt the failed transaction again in the next cycle. This gives it a chance to recover from temporary issues without requiring your intervention.
- Alerts: If a transaction consistently fails, or if a critical error occurs (like insufficient balance causing a buy to fail), you will receive alerts to inform you about the situation, and the bot might pause copying for that specific configuration.
Your Control: Customization and Notifications
You are always in control. You can customize your:
- Trade Amount: How much SOL you want to allocate per trade.
- Max Open Trades: The maximum number of active positions your bot can hold simultaneously.
- Copy Enabled/Disabled: You can easily pause or restart your bot's copying activity from the dashboard.
- Telegram Notifications: You'll receive real-time updates and alerts directly to your Telegram, keeping you informed every step of the way.
By combining intelligent whale tracking, robust trade execution logic, and built-in safeguards, our Copy Trading Bot aims to provide you with a powerful and reliable tool to navigate the crypto markets.
Note 1: Please export your wallet and import it into a Solana compatible wallet to secure your wallet.
Note 2: An additional 1.25% fee is applied to swap transactions on top of the standard network fees. Of this amount, 0.25% goes to Jupiter, while the remaining 1% is allocated to the platform budget to support ongoing development and improvements.
